Mark Permanence
Tested
"Mark permanence" is, generally speaking, the ability of a
product to remain legible after exposure to either abrasion or aggressive
fluids.
There are numerous ways of testing mark permanence... using customized,
in-house test procedures or internationally recognized test. Impact, Inc.
has chosen to adopt the most recognized and most widely accepted mark
permanence test for its use. These are M.I.L., BS2G 198 and U.L. 224.
The tests measure different properties: BS2G 198 looks for mark permanence
after the product has been subjected to a number of hostile fluids; M.I.L.
and U.L. look for mark permanence after the product has been subjected to
abrasion.
When thoroughly tested, Impact, Inc.'s Advanced Wire Marking Sleeves and
Tags show mark permanence quality beyond the minimum requirements
