The Advanced Wire Marking System

Practical Applications

The Advanced Wire Marking System produces sleeves and tags for easy identification of electrical wire and mechanical tubing of all types. These sleeves and tags are not only permanent, but they are also economical to generate in-house on an as needed basis.

Durable Product

The product is manufactured from cross-linked polyolefin, and flame retardant material that will tolerated exposure to temperatures as high as 105°C. Furthermore, it is resistant to common fluids, lubricants and solvents, and designed to absorb solvent-based ink. Once printed, the sleeves and tags are ready for installation without any additional treatment.

Convenient Format

Flat, seamless heat shrinkable tubing and non-shrinkable tags are attached to fanfold paper with a reusable, adhesive tape backing. Fanfold paper also gives you the advantage of stacking and organizing after printing. The unique formant provides a handy work-in-progress list and makes application a simple task for the installer.



Printing Requirements

The products are printed on modified 24 PIN dot-matrix printers and thermal transfer printers. Windows or DOS software is included for free.











Mark Permanence Tested

"Mark permanence" is, generally speaking, the ability of a product to remain legible after exposure to either abrasion or aggressive fluids.

There are numerous ways of testing mark permanence... using customized, in-house test procedures or internationally recognized test. Impact, Inc. has chosen to adopt the most recognized and most widely accepted mark permanence test for its use. These are M.I.L., BS2G 198 and U.L. 224.

The tests measure different properties: BS2G 198 looks for mark permanence after the product has been subjected to a number of hostile fluids; M.I.L. and U.L. look for mark permanence after the product has been subjected to abrasion.

When thoroughly tested, Impact, Inc.'s Advanced Wire Marking Sleeves and Tags show mark permanence quality beyond the minimum requirements
